Mehrdad Afrasiabi is an Iranian cinematographer (Director of Photography) and colorist with more than 15 years of professional experience in narrative cinema, documentary filmmaking, and television productions. Throughout his career, he has collaborated on a wide range of independent and narrative projects, developing a distinctive visual language defined by cinematic composition, naturalistic lighting, and emotionally driven storytelling.
His cinematography has been presented at numerous international film festivals across Europe, North America, and Australia, with several of the films he has worked on receiving official selections and awards at various festivals.
Alongside his work as a Director of Photography and colorist, Afrasiabi has occasionally taught filmmaking through professional workshops, sharing his practical experience and knowledge with emerging filmmakers and the next generation of visual storytellers.
Committed to the art of visual storytelling, he continues to collaborate with filmmakers and production teams on projects that explore human emotions and experiences through distinctive cinematic imagery.
